Memorial Day Holiday Weekend Service (Friday, May 25 - Monday, May 28)
On Friday, May 25, to help you get a jump on Memorial Day Weekend, the “unofficial" start of summer, Metro-North offers plenty of extra early getaway service (see below).
On Saturday, May 26, and Sunday, May 27, a regular weekend schedule will be in effect.
On Memorial Day (Monday, May 28) trains will operate on a Sunday schedule.
To provide New Haven Line customers with more Memorial Day service, we'll operate a Sunday schedule with three extra inbound (to Grand Central) trains and two additional outbound (to New Haven) trains.
Additional express trains to Grand Central will operate at 5:47 PM, 647 PM and 7:47 PM from New Haven, making local stops to Fairfield, then Westport, before going express.
Outbound from Grand Central to New Haven, we'll operate an extra at 3 ;55 PM (first stop at South Norwalk) and an additional 7:57 PM express train to New Haven (first stop at Westport).
Most connecting services will not operate on Monday May 28. However, the Tappan Zee Express will operate on a Saturday schedule.
Friday, May 25 Getaway Service
Look for the following additions and changes to train service on Friday, May 27:
On the Hudson Line
Extra "getaway" trains will depart from Grand Central at:
● 1:46 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Beacon, New Hamburg and Poughkeepsie.
● 2:40 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street and Beacon, New Hamburg and Poughkeepsie.
● 3:25 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street and Beacon, New Hamburg and Poughkeepsie.
● 4:05 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, and Beacon, New Hamburg and Poughkeepsie.
● 5:31 PM to Poughkeepsie and the 5:34 PM to Beacon are combined, departing at 5:34 PM, making all stops between Croton-Harmon and Poughkeepsie
The following trains usually departing Grand Central will not operate:
● The 5:57 PM to Croton-Harmon will not operate.
● The 6:12 PM to Poughkeepsie will not operate.
● The 6:20 PM to Croton-Harmon will not operate.
Hudson Line Connecting Services
The Hudson Rail Link will begin a peak level of buses starting with the 3:20 PM train from Grand Central.
The Haverstraw – Ossining Ferry will have an early ferry trip that will meet the 2:54 PM train from Grand Central, which arrives Ossining at 3:44 PM; The 5:57 PM and 6:20 PM trains will not operate. Instead a 6 PM train from Grand Central, which arrives Ossining at 6:51 PM will be met by the ferry.
The Newburgh – Beacon Ferry will have three early trips meeting the 2:50 PM, the 3:30 PM and 4:05 PM trains from Grand Central.
On the Harlem Line
Extra "getaway" trains will depart from Grand Central at:
● 1:45 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, then all stations between Chappaqua and Southeast.
● 3:14 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, then White Plains and North White Plains only.
● 3:37 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, White Plains, then all stations between Goldens Bridge through Southeast.
● 4:08 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, then all stations between Chappaqua and Southeast.
The following trains usually departing Grand Central will not operate or will make additional stops:
● The 5:25 PM to Brewster will not operate.
● The 5:54 PM to Crestwood will not operate.
● The 6:02 PM to Wassaic will not operate..
● The 6:09 PM to Brewster will make additional stops at Goldens Bridge, Purdy’s and Croton Falls. A Wassaic shuttle will connect with this train at Southeast.
● The 7:27 PM to North White Plains will not operate.
On the New Haven Line
Extra "getaway" trains will depart from Grand Central at:
● 12:04 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Westport, and all stations between Fairfield and New Haven.
● 1:04 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Westport, and all stations between Fairfield and New Haven.
● 1:59 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Stamford, then all stations to South Norwalk.
● 2:04 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Westport then all stations between Fairfield and New Haven.
● 2:28 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, New Rochelle, Larchmont, Mamaroneck and Harrison.
● 2:31 PM stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Westport, Fairfield then all stops between Fairfield and New Haven.
● 2:59 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, then all stations between Stamford and South Norwalk.
● 3:02 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, then all stations between New Rochelle and Harrison.
● 3:23 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Stamford, Westport and all stations between Fairfield and New Haven.
● 3:27 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, then all stations between New Rochelle and Harrison.
● 4:02 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Stamford and all stations between Bridgeport and New Haven.
● 5:20 PM stopping at Harlem-125th Street, then all stations between Mount Vernon East and Harrison.
● 6:02 PM stopping at all stations between Mount Vernon East and Harrison.
The following trains usually departing Grand Central will not operate or are combined:
● The 5:17 PM to Harrison and the 5:20 PM to New Rochelle are combined, departing Grand Central at 5:20 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street and all stations between Mount Vernon East and Harrison.
● The 5:36 PM to Harrison will not operate.
● The 5:59 PM to Harrison and 6:02 PM to New Rochelle are combined, departing Grand Central at 6:02 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, and all stops between Mount Vernon East and Harrison.
● The 6:11 PM to New Haven will also stop at South Norwalk and Westport.
● The 6:17 PM to Bridgeport will not operate.
● The 6:38 PM to Harrison will not operate.
●The 7:11 PM to Harrison will not operate.
●The 8:04 PM to New Haven will not operate.
